We are different.
Unlike most FSBO sites that just want you to list on their website and then you never hear from them, we at MyPlaceForHomes.com are just a little different. Posting on our site is only one small step in a large battle to sell your home. You have to hold open houses, advertise locally in papers, meet lots of people and FOLLOW UP, you need to get all your paperwork ready, how does your house look both inside and out, how does it smell, are you prepared for people to low ball your number and then be able to respond, how is your home priced, what "other" deals are you offering, have you hit the ground running or crawling.
We don't charge a fee to list your home(s). National advertising and exposure is costly, so beware of other websites that charge little to no fee, you may just be wasting your time and energy and getting little to no return. FSBO sellers should understand that selling a home is not as simple as placing an ad in one paper or one website. Its an all out marketing blitz. We urge people to not just list on our site but as many as you can reasonably afford. A typical FSBO sale tends to save thousands and thousands for buyers (this is why more buyers are looking for FSBO homes) but also the seller can make more money, we recommend a middle ground of savings and more proffit. But in doing so, you need to plan to advertise and put in the time. Realtors charge up to 7%, for their expertise AND because they also spend A LOT OF MONEY and time advertising your home. So expect to spend around $600-$1000 of your own money advertising on websites, papers (not too many papers though as up to 95% of buyers are looking online and papers can be very costly and you only get a very small description, use the papers for open house announcements). If you are too conservitive, any money you spend will wasted as you will not have the turn out you need to sell, and end up giving it (back) to a realtor.
